Stoeger M3020
« on: April 04, 2020, 04:17:53 PM »
Used a Carlson's TSS .555 last year and it was great.  I saw recent videos that suggested .562 IC for better patterns.  I never shot the factory choke but decide to try this morning just for fun.  This is the pattern with Apex #9 at 50 yds.  I didn't count them, but that is a 12" circle and I was holding dead center.  Had 3 shots just like that, so I'm hunting with it.  The second pic is the result with the Carlson for comparison, again at 50yds and not bad.

Yes.  I emailed Stoeger and they said it is a .575.  I have a cheap mic that only does 2 decimal points, but I think it is a .565.  I never tried it last year when I got the gun because I assumed the Carlson's would be better and the patterns with it were great, but not this good.

How does the pattern look at 20 yards?

The core is softball size with some spread out around it at 20.  My 12 ga is even tighter than this one up close and I have never had a problem.  I use the Dead Ringer sight system, but will be going to a FF3 next season.
