Hevi-18 vs Hevi-13, 7s, 3.5”
« on: April 03, 2020, 08:27:13 PM »
Keeping this short and to the meat and taters.

While it struck a beautiful, nice pattern, the Hevi18 has 100 less pellets in the ring at 40yrds versus the Hevi13 in 7s
I’ll play with another choke, but I don’t think it’s gonna pull back in.

Sooo, big question...

More pellets or more range?

Does it matter?

I typically shoot birds close, but have occasionally had them hang up.

Hevi13#7-346pellets@40
Hevi18#7-242pellets@40
Using Hevishot ported choke tube

Both solid patterns. The hevi 18 will cover you both ways. Basically, they are both great. I would hunt either one....

They blow through the 1/2” OSB plywood vs the Hevi13 roll out from behind the paper target...and I’m not trashing Hevi13, I’ve taken many many my osceola with them bad mammerjammers.

Will try the Indian Creek choke with the Hevi18

Results soon...

DEFINITELY getting Hevi-18 for my 20ga build.
Hope it likes the Jebs.555

Thanks, Jim!
So far it’s working super !

Still like the Hevi13 7s but the TSS is sooooo hard hitting!

Bingo!!!! Just like we talked about on the phone , the H13 to me (and you ) just leave too much to chance. BTW...here's a few other ammo mfgs to consider and are less than H18
Foxtrot ammo
Burgess creek
Gamechanger TSS (On FB- Josh Emory)
Boss Tom
These are all hand loaded one at a time.

BTW...still haven't received put for those 20 gauge H13s....Lol!!!
Keep in touch brother.
