I think it is a curse, because my ears hear a difference in tone/pitch between different wood species.

Dense woods are about as necessary as sexy pieces of wood.  But both are nice and plain will suffice.  Depending on builder process method the difference between woods can vary.   Dymondwood does nicely.

The comment form Matt surely makes sense , and that is surely more than opinion , as thru the last 6 years of knowing him I have seen more different species of woods on his table than most other makers , so this is first hand knowledge for sure . BTY in all that time I have played alot of his stuff and know I have never picked up a trumpet of his I could not kill a turkey with anywhere they live , well except maybe them peacocks in the Yucatan ... Lol

I hope you get to see my next build.  No body has done one like it.  I’ve gone through and rehearsed the build in my mind. It’s complicated but will leave a natural look with no doubt of what it’s made of.  Form. Function. Natural beauty.
