Indiana Hunt from last year
« on: February 15, 2020, 10:55:52 PM »
Hey fellas figured this might fire you up. This was my hunt last year in Indiana (home state). Hunted all damn day to hear one bird five counties away gobble at sunrise and sat all day( Indiana finally got rid of the afternoon cutoff years ago) two birds fired up about 300 yards and hotter than a hoochie cootchie. I had another file of them hammering on the go pro. My only negative was my ol 835 got silly heavy free holdin. I had my gun drawn about 12 min total and couldn’t hold it longer!!!

It was an epic hunt and the GoPro captured it all to relative success.

Skip the 4:00-6:15 mark. Need to work more on editing.

Enjoy men. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwinBZVBaow&feature=share

That’s awesome. I never in my life have had another longbeard come back to the scene after shooting and calling like what happened on the video, well it hasn’t happened yet. Congrats on your bird!

Very nice! I’ve learned that if you are going to self film it helps tremendously if you have a decoy set up. I’ve been able to get two hunts on camera that way. But I’m not as good in the interviews as Hoosier though...my videos consist of turkeys coming in and getting shot...that’s it...LOL

Cool video!! I like how you called the 2nd gobbler back in after the shot.  :icon_thumright:
What do you carry the pistol for?

I carry everyday so it’s just natural for me. Never know when a coyote might sneak up on those dekes glad y’all enjoyed it.

I carry every day also. When deer hunting I often, but not always carry. Usually in turkey season, I don't carry. Might start, but I figure that a scattergun packs more of a whallop than a pistol.
Either way, good luck this spring.
