I agree the second one does not sound so good but it sounds more like a striker or conditioning problem. I would like to hear it again condition with the striker conditioned as well.

My vote would be for the first call sound file. Second call sounds flat and lacks that distinct back half of the yelp. Same caller and striker?

So sound file 1 was stumpys and 2 was Halloran. I will say that I could go back and have the call reconditioned and make sure I play it well, but the top shelf ceramic I don't like as much as the Stumpy built call.

I'll try and get those sound files up again today. I will say regardless that Stumpy's does sound better to my ear.

Both sound terrible.  Try different strikers on them.
