Frankenstein Trumpet - Whatcha Think

I got a little careless turning a Ringed Gidgee trumpet recently, cutter grabbed an edge, ripped the blank into 3 or 4 pieces and threw it from the lathe(this stuff is very HARD). In my attempt to save a beautiful piece of wood I had to get creative, one of those fixes(Osage Orange in the bell area) is seen below. I was just wondering what everyone thought about this as a potential new accent on my trumpets. It is a real pain to do, but seemed to look kinda cool, I would do it if it made sense. By the way, the intent was to keep this "Frankenstein" trumpet for myself, it has some scar tissue.....lol....The accent wood here is Osage Orange. I wish I would have taken a before pic as it was a mess.

That's some pretty wood.   I'd prefer the cleaner look.  But good save.   The good thing about that is some people would prefer the clean wood and others would prefer the accents.   Can't go wrong either way.

Some people would really like it I’m sure. Definitely better than throwing it away but I prefer the clean look myself though. But it was a great save

Pretty work....

Its such a gut punch when they fly off the lathe......and it always happens with expensive wood....lol

Spoken from experience....lol....I was not happy, immediately started picking up pieces and figuring out how to fix it. I almost gave up, but with lots of patches and CA, I own another trumpet.
