With mine the striker would be on the part sticking up in the back on the top edge (Referring to picture 2) and you would strike it along the length of the board from top to bottom.

Yes Joyner called that call they're Enticer it had a peg Striker and sounded like a Lynch jet slate, the scratch box sounds pretty good also when struck on wood or piece of slate
