Rained the last two days so I took a drive to see if turkeys were out in the open. Saw two gobblers in the middle of a hay field all fuzzed up looking sullen. Then caught a bunch coming out of a standing corn field. Looked like two hens with about 5-6 jenny's apiece. Didn't see one jake with them, looks like they've already been run off.

The  three hens on my place are down to 7 poults from 10. They are getting pretty big now

I saw two hens with a pile of poult's in eastern New Mexico the other day, way out in the prairie, didn't even really consider it a place that would hold birds.

Had not seen any in the midwest at all.

Seeing few poults this summer in North East Ohio. Have seen 2 small separate flocks in last week or so and each one featured several hens with 1 poult in the groups. This springs rains were record setting here. Doesn't look real promising of a hatch from my few observations.

Had two adult hens with 18 poults behind the house several days over the past month.  They come in and clean up the corn the deer missed.  Happy to see so many survivors this far along.
Luck counts, good or bad.

River around here was way above flood stage for over 150 days. Wreaked havoc on hens being able to nest successfuly.
