White Cedar

Has any of the call makers used whit cedar for pots? White cedar was used for power poles back in the 40’s and 50’s I believe.

Seems way too soft....only has a janka hardness of 320.

Eastern cedar is soft stuff, but its twice as hard as white.

Since I work for a power company I figured it would be pretty neat having one made out of a power pole. I knew it was a pretty soft wood though.

To my knowledge the white cedar polls wasn’t. The newer type are treated with creosote. These cedar polls was used back in the 40’s and 50’s or that’s what some of the date nails says.
