Savage 24 question
« on: May 23, 2019, 03:16:03 PM »
I inherited a savage model 24 .22 mag/ 20 gauge over and under. Would it be safe to shoot TSS out of it? I know some people say not to shoot steel out of some of the older fixed barrel guns. Thanks.

I called Federal Tech Dept. a couple years ago to ask if safe to shoot their 15 g/cc HVWT shot in the flight control wads in an older Savage 20 gaugefrom the 1960's with factory fixed full choke

they said it is safe, I have had no problems with it, not a 24 but an older Savage.

I'm also shooting TSS in it now with no problems

I have shot TSS and Heavyweights through older guns with absolutely no issues.  Let us know how it shoots!!!

Have a good one
