Looking at a 28 gauge project for tss.  What is the recommendation between Stevens, CZ, Stoeger, etc.?  Appreciate it.

If I were to do another o/u(probably won't) I would be thinking Beretta, Browning, Ruger ( Red Labels are still around). How easy the barrel selector is to use is really important. My experience with the cheaper guns is barrel selection is more difficult. Ruger is simplest.

Thanks Doc.  I get a sense that on a 28, you wouldn't go o/u?

Shoot a 555 and it works well!

The prob w many double guns imo is getting chokes for it. You can't have two extended chokes side by side very often. Not sure if none can do it but consider that.
Also the mentioned red label, you either need a comb raiser or your head needs to be awful long. They drop way too much w even beads. Consider that too. 28 ga is my fav ga. If I could hunt w one I would. I don't think I'd run tss through it either. It's apparently real hard and can scratch barrels. Spend 3 grand or more on most o/u I'd not want to punish gun.
Spending less often means too much stock drop and more importantly barrels not aligned correctly. All double guns shoot slightly dif poa at all except one distance. Cheaper ones commonly aren't as good as more expensive ones in this regard.
I'd just use an older rem 870 or something if it was me but I've got more than a couple 28s in my safe. Great gauge!!

Thanks for the feedback.  I've been told the Franchi AL48 is a good alternative.  Finding one is the trick.
