Desert Ironwood BURL-Gwaltney G3

I finished this Desert Ironwood Burl trumpet today, wow, what a cool piece of wood. I will say that this was by far the most difficult trumpet I have turned, this stuff was incredibly temperamental. Even with carbide tools, it was a handful to keep in one piece....lol....Greg

Man that's sweet. Awesome job with the burl. I have to say I hate turning ironwood. Real tough on tools and wants to grab like crazy and yes I'm using carbide tools. Oh and it stinks like hell.  LOL

Appreciate it callmakerman.....this stuff was a nightmare to turn, hard as concrete and nasty attitude towards tools. I wasn't sure that it would end up being a trumpet until I was playing it...lol... Thankfully it worked out, beautiful and sounds/runs great.
