Wing bone call making
« on: April 14, 2019, 10:17:14 PM »
Going to give it a try but looking to tip from the pros..... what lengths tend to give someone the best tone and sounds. Also do you usually get one call per wing or do you split everything and do two calls per wing?
Any tips would be great? Been on the YouTube and google but I think you guys know best.

You can't make two calls with one wing. As far as lengths of individual bones, they vary per the diameter for me. In all reality, you have to experiment yourself.

I am not a Pro but I have made a few Wing Bones and Cane Yelpers.

Best tip I can give you is to start out with the pieces as long as possible. You can always make them shorter but you can't make them longer. You can practice on store bought wings also.

I usually glue them up with white Elmer's to check the tone then clean it off and use epoxy or super glue.
