« on: March 31, 2019, 04:52:18 PM »
I did a slate over padauk in a poplar pot. It is very high and breaks and purrs nicely. Cheapest pot I could make is now going in my vest  :funnyturkey:

In my experience, price has nothing to do with sound. I hunt with some cheaper calls and have some high dollar calls in the drawer.

That's my point Ct1, with a little research and some time and effort, we can get a quality product. Maybe a little luck too, LOL

I am carrying one of my poplar slates this season. I like it and it is high pitched and raspy. The purrs are sweet too.  :funnyturkey:

Have you thought about adding some RIT dye to the pot before you finish them?
