Thanks, I got this gun in the mid 90's and it's been a fun gun to hunt with.
it's nothing fancy, just a "hardware store" work gun, but it's still doing what it was built to do.

Great pic, great gun......

My first shotgun was a Remington 1100 3 inch mag wood stock. It had the white diamond under the stock grip. I shot my first turkey with it in PA in the early 80's. Used Remington hi brass number 4's. I sold that gun years later, and regret doing that. It truly was a great old school gun...

My newly remodeled 1938 Winchester Model 12, 12 gauge 2-3/4". Shot my first turkey with it and my latest.

First time posting, not sure if I'm smart enough to add a pic.  This is a 1956 dlx wingmaster that my son killed a turkey with  this past season.  Has what I guess you call a matted ribbed barrel, but not a raised rib.  It has a full choke.

Real nice. Those old ones are the best...

I hunted with one for several years, but i eventually upgraded to a boyds stock. I like it better. My dad still hunts with a wingmaster like the one pictured.

Love the thread, going to track down my late uncle's model 12, he always talked about buying it in 1937 at the hardware store for like 65 bucks.

I have killed a turkey with my grandfathers old single barrel and another uncle's old beloved 20ga o/u, killed two with it.

My grandfather was not a hunter but both my uncle's were pretty hard core and the one who owned the 20 is the reason I started hunting in the first place.

I believe that model 12 is fixed full choke, thinking about some 2 3/4 winchester xx mags.

My first turkey was shot with my father's 870 Wingmaster Magnum - but after blooding my BPS on some nice birds the last couple years I came into a Brno 12 gauge double that was bought as the mate to my grandfather's some 60 years ago. Since my grandfather's gun is a wallhanger, I'll be patterning and carrying the twin this tukey season and seeing how it'll do on the first turkey hunt since it came off the assembly line - thinking some 2 3/4" Longbeards might be worth trying out.

How many of y'all shooting older guns are shooting tss loads? I have an old fixed full and I have been told it will bulge barrel

I'm shooting TSS out of my Model 12 but I've had the barrel reduced from 32" to 26" and added choke tubes to handle the TSS.

I decided last year not to try it. Think I'm going to try a 1 5/8 oz load of 9.5s that calls for 1/4 inch felt spacer in bottom of wad and buffer in shot. Figure with the TPS wad and felt in bottom there's almost no way it would scratch the barrel or not have enough flex to get out with out causing a bulge

The 1-5/8 oz load would be a good choice. I'm shooting that in 8.5's from Foxtrot.

I really don't know how old this 20 gauge 870 Wingmaster LW is (fixed modified barrel), but it's older than me (I'm 39). My dad handed it down to my older brother (13 years older) and he gave it back to my dad. Then my dad handed it down to me and I've killed many turkeys at close range with it.

Check out this old Walther I held yesterday. First auto shotgun. The action on this thing is plumb wild.
