Paul Hicks Jr. Red slate/ JLH heavy hickory

This is one of my favorite pages on the forum and I love hearing others post sound files of different calls, so I figured I'd try and start posting some myself. I'm no expert caller and dont claim to be, but I do enjoy it. Take it easy on me! Hopefully I do these great callmakers some justice.

Thank you! Paul makes one heck of a call and Jeff's strikers are excellent and easy playing. His weighted hickory sounds good on everything. Sounds killer on that green slate I got from you.

Thanks a ton. I always enjoy listening to your sound files. They are the best. Love that eddie wynne persimmon slate you put on here. That's one of the finest sounding calls I've heard.

Very nice Ryan!

But....I think you could make any call and striker sound good!

You have some skillz!

Very nice. Listening to a lot of CD's trying to get my cadence down. Sounds like you already do.

Thank ya Jeff! You the man! If I ever sound good it is all call and striker. All the skill is you guys that make them! By the way I was playing around tonight with a couple glass calls and your marblewood I stole off Ebay and its sounds down right nasty on glass! Cant wait to hear it out in the woods. It's a good one.

Thank you! I really appreciate that! I'm not great, but I love it and am always trying to get better. I drive around alot for my job and I have a couple cd's I'll pop in or listen to YouTube videos. Nothing beats sitting out in the woods and listening to the real thing. It's been a few weeks though since I've found a huge flock to listen to. Weather hasn't been great here in southern indiana.

You would not by chance have a copy of K&H Turkey Hunting Spittin' Feathers 2 would you?

I dont. If I did I'd burn it for you and send it to you. I'll keep an eye out though. I'm always looking. If I find any I will be sure to let you know.

Ryan, this is the cedar / red slate that you recently got from Paul, correct?  Mine seems to like the dymonwood, hickory and laminated strikers as well.
