Turkey hunters are kinda crazy

Cut N Run

I live within my means and get to enjoy turkey hunting, even if the Hevi shot costs me more everytime I pull the trigger.  I also have an extreme fishing addiction & have since I was 3 years old.  No telling how many fishing rods & lures I own...WAY more than I'll ever need.

It all pales in comparison to my wife's equestrian addiction. Whoever said that a boat is a hole in the water you pour money into, never owned a show horse.  She has jumping and dressage lessons every week, owns a jumping and dressage saddle, has all the fancy clothes & boots to show in.  Mix in shoes for the horse, vet bills, board & feed at the farm where her horse lives.  Of course, she had to have a living quarters trailer (camper in the front horse trailer in the back), and a truck big enough to pull it all. Blankets, bridles, halters, bits, stirrups. Then there's show entry fees. membership dues, club dues, and on, and on, and on.  That said, I'd rather have her riding his  than mine!  I'm thrilled she is consumed by her passion, I just wish is was a less expensive hobby.   The win/win for me is that I have rights to hunt some of the farms she rides on that are otherwise off limits to hunting.

A lot of turkey hunters tend to be a bit sensitive too!
Or they throw you under the BUS .... :TooFunny:
I've been ran over, and then backed back over and never missed a beat.  Like water off a ducks back ;D
If I'm not back in five minutes, wait longer!

You think turkey hunters are crazy about gear, run in some of the archery circles for a while.  Those guys will sell everything they have and 'upgrade' the next year.  Flagship bows every year.
Who us? Nah! lol Vanes, vanes, vanes, how I love to switch them out and try difference kinds and sizes. Different arrowheads too, gotta try all that I can. Targets? Just give me a cardboard box stuffed tight with old clothes that have had their zippers and buttons removed. May not look fancy but work just as good as those expensive targets (For field points anyway)
