Bushnell Trophy Red dot
I thought I was the only one.  Love the sunshade.  I had birds spook from the glare off a TRS 25 and won't be running one like that again.
Nope.  After I did the initial setup of this sight she hasn't failed to perform flawlessly.  She only shoots 3 1/2 inch Hevi 7s and has been on airplanes to and from Kansas and South Dakota, in my truck to Florida twice and back and forth to our lease for over 10 years with out any problems.

Jump down to the Sights and Optics area of this forum.    Tons of info there.

300 dollar sights will work fine also 100 dollar sight will kill just as dead ... Good reasonable red dot is the Bushnell TRS 25....

I just want to make sure the sight can handle the recoil. I've had some truglo sights fail in the past.

Never have tried Truglo ... I've hear of people having problem with them...

Don't overlook the Mueller Quick Shot.  Less than $100 on Amazon.

Trijicon Accupoint 1-4X with green chevron. A little overkill, but it's fast and an excellent low-light optic.

Dr Juice

A Simmons Pro Diamond scope on my 11-87 and a Leupold scope on my SX2.

I have run a truglo dotsight of some sort or an for probably 15 years. Not a single failure experienced and I shoot 3.5" loads. It might keep you from eating lunch at the cool kids table so if that matters to you I wouldn't buy one. I don't like having an exposed glass that reflects light on my gun and what I have works just fine for me.

I had two truglos fail shooting buckshot loads when I used to do beaver damage control so that put a sour taste in my mouth. Dot would be in the middle then on the next shot it would be up in the far corner and you couldn't adjust it anymore.

misfire

I currently have 2 FFIIs and a SpeedDot. Just added a Sig Romeo 5 to the arsenal. The Romeo has motion sensor ability, you turn it on and after 2 minutes of inactivity, it shuts down. When you move it again, it automatically turns back on. They are bragging 40,000 hours of battery life.
