I asked Billy was it Genuine and he told me no.  He called it by another name but said it was Argentinian.  It's a 6.5 in...hasn't made a lot of those to my knowledge.

I didn't get much at Unicoi this year.  I did manage to pick up a John Dangerfield in Mud-Cured Bois D'Arc

Verawood, maybe?

GSUTURK98

That may be it, seems like he called it verte or Vera but when I asked if it was genuine he mentioned "Argentinian".

Got ya.  Very cool.

That's a nice Dangerfield call.  He had several I would have liked to purchase.  That was my first time meeting John and I was very impressed with the craftsmanship and sound of his calls.

That is a stunning trumpet.

Congrats to you, and everyone else who had the chance to attend this year. Really enjoying seeing all these calls.

Unless I'm  mistaken I bought a pair of the same wood (2 on the left) from Billy.  He told me it was Verte. He pronounced it "ver-tay".  Said it will really darken up over time. I'm no wood expert but it looks like maybe Argentine lignum vitae but the green in it looks like verawood? Would love to hear opinions from some of you as to what it is.

I carried 500$ this year and wish I had two thousand more. The calls available were unbelievable.  The more photos of everyone's haul I see the more money I need to save up for next year.

BigSlam51

Did anyone else get a coyote wood over black limba from Mike lapp? I know he had one or two more. This is one killer call

It's another name for macacauba, sometimes called granadillo and hormingo.

Thanks to all of you for posting about unicoi including all the awesome pics...I was scheduled to attend but had to cancel the day I was Scheduled to leave due to a strong Nor'eastern blowing into SE Wisconsin . It brought rain, sleet, snow and wind......so I lived vicariously through all of you people.i will try again next year.
