Snakewood & ABW - Fresh off the Lathe
« on: January 06, 2019, 08:20:09 AM »
Finished these two up yesterday, Snakewood and ABW, some of my favorites. Snakewood is a tricky wood to turn, slow and easy does the trick. Love a Snakewood trumpet, but ABW is old reliable, turns consistently and always sounds fantastic.

noisy box call that seems to sound like a flock of juvenile hens pecking their way through a wheat field

a real turkey would never win a calling contest. The true judge is the turkey you call in...  if you do.. you're a winner

Thanks.....I have the other end of this Snakewood blank to turn, but probably won't be ale to get to it for a week or two as I am going to run up to Helen Friday/Saturday for the Unicoi show.

Two fine yelpers. If anyone is wondering how they sound I'll tell you awesome. Very easy to run and full of turkey at a great price.

Turning SW always hurts my head and my heart. Both are awesome looking though Greg!

Thank you so much for the kind words, makes me feel like I am on the right path with these trumpets.
