Awesome calls!! Have ran one of his “Misfit” calls yet!! They are incredible!!
what do you mean by "Misfit"??

Its a handled box.
I have one. I think he only made them in a Limited Edition.
Marlin had a few a Turkey Trot a few weeks ago

He had only one there
when he first got there he had at least 4-5. I played all of them

Those weren’t misfits, he only had one actual misfit with him.  A misfit is a handled shortbox, you are probably thinking of his shorter version of his longbox, his turkey trot/dodat box.  Trust me, he only had one misfit with him.

VT35. What is your favorite combo??

I've thought about gettting a duplicate macassar/butternut if that says anything.  That box is a meat call.
  Agree, i have a macassar/butternut ... it's outstanding call for sure ....

Will,
Is there a big difference in sound between the mora and macassar lid over butternut calls?

I think a big key to keep in mind when it comes to Marlins calls is you can have two of the same exact combo and they may have have a different sound to them, both equally great but different, and to me that’s a good thing as they will both sound turkey, be able to run all out to super soft, and hold them and run them all kinds of ways and get a ton of different birds out of them

Don't disagree with that

There sure is. The Perssimon to me has a nice hollow yawk where as the Butternut has a lot more rasp. Very similar to the rasp on my Snakewood call except not quite as high. I hope I explained that right.
Two youth hunts ago I broke out the perssimon and Macassar. I have never fired up so many birds before with one single call. Needless to say I wore that call out for a few weeks.

Both of them sound different when comparing them to one another. Both have a nice mature hen sound except the wormy has more rasp. Not a lot of rasp but enough.
