Seems Cody is the most mentioned production call. Cody calls come in a wide price range. I have read the posts on here about whether or not high end Cody's are worth the money. Woodsman Drop Dead was mentioned, but there is also a plain woodsman and a Cody II. These calls range from $45- $80. To the Cody owners, that have these calls, which one do you like best. I am not really trying to save a dollar, but don't look to throw money away either. Just looking for input, I do not own a Cody.

I actually don’t own a drop dead call. The only production call I still own is a Cody woodsman. The regular series. Lots of bird “dropped dead” to it and I’ve got lots of calls to chose from but if the only call I had on me was the reg woodsman I’d not be concerned

I only live 40 miles from Lonzo so I will call him and go see him. I haven't been to see him in a few years , so I will enjoy the visit.  I live in Georgia myself, so where in Georgia does Lonnie Mabry live? I ordered a Cody Woodsman also, I have never owned a Cody of any kind so I want to try one. I appreciate everyone that has responded. Thank you, Larry

I'm Surprised no one mentioned Al Hobart of Enticer Turkey Calls. His banner is on this blog. He makes killer calls most all are under $50. He knows his stuff and makes no no nonsense calls full of turkey.
We wait all year, why not enjoy the longbeard coming in hunting for a hen, let 'em' in close !!!

I will look at Enticer. The Blue Rock is a Strawser call made of Blue Mahoe with slate surface.

I just went to Enticer website. He has a video on all the calls he makes. Great website and good sounding calls at a very reasonable price. His wet playing calls are pretty neat. I like a slate call, but they can be a little squeaky in the early morning humidity. Thanks for the heads up on Enticer Calls.

I think you're best off playing before you buy. I suggest swinging through Eatonton for a visit with Olin Humphries the next time you're up that way. His shop is right off the 441 bypass.

I went over there before season to buy a ceramic. My son was about to have a fit to get a call, but I had emptied my wallet already. Mr. Olin dug around and found a slate call he had dropped to give to the boy. The thing sounds awesome. And the six year old did have them gobbling with it this Spring.
