20 ga patterns
« on: April 22, 2018, 05:24:48 PM »
Got a little NEF 20ga that has had the Sumtoy work. Shot it today with a few shells. What do you all think about these 30 yard patterns?

Its hard to read what you wrote on the targets. With that said, whatever the last pic is gets my vote.

That would be the #5 Longbeards. They are really good out to 40. Any of my 30 patterns would kill a bird. But to get much farther the longbeard would be the shell to use.

Does one of them say 7.5 pheasant? If so I wonder what that one would do at 35 and 40. And would 7.5 shot still be effective at those ranges. What pheasant load was it if that is what it is?

It was a Fiochhi 3in pheasent load. I haven't shot it at 40 and don't know if it would kill at that distance.
