Dilemmas
« on: April 20, 2018, 09:37:13 PM »
There was a time when I hated em but I guess I’m getting old cause I’m not sweating it.,
Anyway tonight when I was about to eat before going roosting for youth day tomo, I looked out back and saw 3 longbeards. They had one hen between them so they’d prob be callable. After they entered the mountains I lost sight of em and went roosting. After all I had a good bead on three already.
I wound up roosting another bird. I got between him and some hens. Maybe his hens. If so 150-200 yards separated them. Another possibly very callable bird
So I didn’t blow the birds I stayed til 830. It’s only about a mile back to my place but with it being late I couldn’t get the 3 amigos to gobble. Coyotes, bears, bobcats, Fox, etc coulda busted em out.  If they had gobbled that’s where I’d go. I’m not saying they aren’t there though. I’d not even fire up my truck tomo.
The roosted bird could fly totally the wrong way or be gone in the am too but I’m gonna go for the one who showed me he’s there, I think. . .
Either way I’m ready to start playing the game. Good luck to whoever’s out there tomo

Mother dilemma last night. I again saw one bird by the house an hour before dark but he wouldn’t roost. Down another farm I roosted so that’s where I went.
Got a really super bird at 30 yards. Shot wasnt too good so the intent was to wait. Dang hen came across ridge running, Gobbler ran up to her like he’s been deployed. Oh well, idk if I woulda shot even if I knew.
