Optic for Benelli M2
« on: March 20, 2018, 07:54:23 PM »
Hey everybody,

I purchased my first shotgun in October before a duck trip out west. It is a benelli M2 12ga 28" and for now it is my do all gun. I shoot a lot of trap, 5 stand, and some duck/pheasants with it. Is there an option to mount a reflex sight by taking the butt stock off and mounting bergen that and the receiver? I'm trying to jog my memory on the subject. I'm going after turkeys in 3 weeks and was thinking of trying something other than a bead.

Burris speed bead yes. It’s what I use on both my Benellis

Is the speed bead the mount, the optic, or both?

Speed bead is the mount. Fastfire 2 or 3 on top of it. I think the vortex fits it as well though

What MOA did you go with on the fast fire 3? Thanks, I'm looking to order in the next 24 hours.

Is the upper gun a 20, and if so did you have to alter the speadbead to make it fit?

Burris speed bead yes. It’s what I use on both my Benellis

Yes it’s a 20. The mount at that time was only made for the 12 so it requires some slight moding. They make one now for the 20 though

Sorry for all the questions, but can I buy a FF3 that has the pica tinny mount and put it on a speed bead? I've been looking on ebay and might buy mount and sight separate.

Yep.  The mount is a separate part, so you can just leave it off.  That's what I've done, since I find the model with the mount on sale more often.

I bought the mount and site separate. Usually you can get it cheaper that way and then have the extra picatinny mount to sell or keep. I got the mount off eBay new for pretty cheap.
