does anyone use one of these? I got one with a new call and can't get it to sound good on any of my surfaces. It runs ok for a bit, but i'm constantly having to rough it up.

I have a one piece pecan and it's one of my favorites. Mellows out the sharpness of a lot of calls and I love the sound.

I don't think I have ever tried one.  Who makes a good one?

Mine happens to be made by John Sinclair. I picked it up in a group of strikers I got off here.

I had a Marrer Pecan for a couple of days. I got it on a trade. Nice striker. Sounds like a toned down version of hickory. Just wasn't right to my ear.
