POA and POI at ranges
« on: March 10, 2018, 08:51:21 AM »
So I should know this but in typical fashion I have over thought things to the point that I now doubt myself.

From 10-40 yards should my POA and POI be the same or will there be significant drop at 40 compared to 10 yards? I have a Vortex Venom red dot. Planning on testing 3" LB#6, Triple Beard and Hevi-13 #7's this year.

Get it close as you can at 20-25 yards with cheap shells then verify at 40 with a turkey load and go hunting. Him moving or you flinching would be more of a concern at 10 yards than your sight being off an inch

If you're dead nutz at 10-15, you should be good at 40.  Virtually no drop from 15-40, at least none that you or the bird will notice...
