Im planning on buying a new choke for my 870 exspress it has a 28'' barrel and I plan on shootin HV13 3'' 7s. Cabelas has the Jellyhead and the new HV13 choke.I aint sure which one I should get. Wondered what ya'll thought
I eat therefore I hunt

I replaced the 28"barrel on my 870 Express with a 24" and a .665 Jellyhead.
I throw 265 Hevi-13 Mag Blend 5,6,7 and 198 with Hevi-13 #6's and 261 with Hevi-13 number 7's .
But I am shooting 3.5's.

The 28" barrel wouldn't patern well in my gun.

Shoot ILIKEHEVI-13 a PM. He has the same gun and shoots the 3-2-7's.

Well I shot a Jelly Head .665 and .660.  I wasn't impressed with either in my gun.  Some others on here swear by Jelly Head chokes in their 870.  The only Jelly Head choke I have seen shoot well was the .690 for the 835.

I'm shooting a MAD Super Max .675 or a Indian Creek .669 with those loads.  Both do very well.  I would say a Pure Gold .670 would be work very well.  That's going to be my next choke to buy.  So far I'm sold on Pure Gold chokes.

I've shot all the models of the Hevi-13 chokes and have been impressed with them. I've also had a lot of very positive feedback from folks who've purchased them. Most have been shooting either #6 or #7 Hevi-13 shotshells.

Thanks,
Clark

the jellyhead in my 870 didn't produce anything special, 190's w/ 3.5 Magblends and 3.5" 6's, 200's w 3-2-7

That's about what I got with the Jelly Head .665 with the 3" 2oz Hevi-13 #7's.  I think it was 204 shot.  The Indian Creek .665 did 202.  Both chokes didn't impressed me in my gun.

Here's the best pattern I have got with the MAD Super Max .675 shooting on a decent temp day of 72 degrees and shooting great shooting Hevi-13 3" 2oz #7 loads.  They won't all shoot like that though.  But 250 to 270 can be obtained with a good lot.

Here's the Indian Creek .669 choke.
