10 Gauge TSS - What size ?
« on: February 28, 2018, 11:13:28 PM »
Considered trying some TSS. I currently shoot a browning gold 10, 26" barrel and a Patternmaster Code Black. Does pretty good with the Hevishot magblends but not sure what to expect with the TSS. Thought about buying the Apex loads. What size should I try? 7.5, 8 or 9?

I would definitely go with the 8's. A friend of mine just shot the Apex load with TSS9 in his SP10 and a Rhino choke and got 538 hits in 10 inch circle at 40. That is way more than needed for a turkey in my opinion, and the 8's will give you farther range if needed. The ideal situation would be to call them and see if you can get a sample pack of all three sizes and shoot one of each before deciding.

That will be a ton of overkill in any tss size.  Hopefully they will load some mixed lead/tss for the larger gauges next year that will be more affordable as well.

I'm a pellet junkie so I would want to try the 9's overkill or not.  :z-guntootsmiley:

I thought about going the tss route in my BPS 10. 8s would be my choice for 2 reasons. 1 it's the smallest shot we can use here in NY...and why not up the pellet size to take advantage of the 10s bigger bore and payload? I have a few years worth of mag blends for the 10, and sometimes they seem like overkill, so I haven't tried tss.
