Preferred chucking method
« on: January 16, 2018, 01:01:17 AM »
When turning a pot How do y'all prefer to chuck your blank? I use a 4 jaw chuck right now. I center a 1/2 hole and run it in the middle. I've considered buying some flat jaws to try another method. Just curious how everyone prefers.

I use a 4 jaw and chuck up on the center of my pedistal made by finding center and using a forster bit and drill press.  I finish the outside of the pot 1st.
.

Then I use a rubber band made from an old motorcycle inner tube, and chuck up holding
The outside to finish the inside of the pot.

I really like this idea. Thanks for sharing! I'm about to try my first corian pot I may try this method. I only have one chuck so I'll have to swap jaws but no biggie.
