Anyone else on here had this??? I go in tomorrow to a specialist and would imagine ill probably be told to have surgery beings I've been fighting it for awhile...I have the symptoms in both hands...Does anyone know the fastest a guy can get back to work? I'm self employed and I can afford to be off work, but customer and work load wise need to get back as soon as I can...I also want to be healed up before turkey season... :funnyturkey:

guesswho

I had both hands and my left elbow operated on at the same time.  Recovery was quick, but it all depends on what you do for a living.   I went straight to work, but about all I did was type and write.  I was riding a 4-wheeler the next day, but that's not advisable.

Glad to here it's possible to do both hands at once and the healing is pretty fast... I wasn't sure if it was possible to do some essential things in life like feed myself along with the other side of  feeding yourself if i did both hands at once..I want to keep my dignity. My wife is pretty good most the time but Not that helpful... Lol...

I've suffered with it for years. Never was very excited about surgery though, I guess that's why I still suffer from it. Good luck.

I like hearing that....I thought it would be over a month. I can handle a week or two or three. After that I'd be bored out of my mind...

Carpal tunnel sucks,  I hope the surgery fixes it for you.

I went straight from surgery to eat at a local restaurant.   It was funny because my wife had a cat on her left are from wrist surgery a week before.   The hardest thing was getting money out of my pocket.  The best rehab tool I had was like a soccer ball.  Just putting pressure on it with my hands really helped to loosen up and stretch things out.   Good luck.

Maybe you could schedule it for the beginning of April then you could turkey hunt while you recover. My wife had it done and it was a fast recovery for her

Maybe physical therapy could work or maybe it's just a matter of using your hands in a different way if it's been caused by some habit of yours.  It sometimes happens if you use a tool a lot and hold it in a way that causes the problem, even a computer mouse. Surgery is the last resort. Don't go to the doctor thinking surgery is the only solution.

Been dealing with and cubital tunnel (elbow) without surgery but the tendonitis in my fingers is become much more bothersome of an issue.

I had it done to my right hand only, the left hand wasn't bad enough to have done. The test to see how bad you are was almost worse then having it fixed. The test they did on me is they start jabbing needles into you ( I hate needles, I had a operation at eight years old)and keep moving up or down, don't remember untill your mussels jump. Anyway I was back to doing most things after surgery with in a week, not a lot of heavy lifting though. But my fingers were going num by mid day every day, doctor said keep it up and it becomes permanent. He said some one will have to botten your shits and zip your pants the rest of your life. Month later I was turkey hunting, but I did try shooting left handed again before surgery just in case something went wrong.

guesswho

I agree, the test was no joke.  On mine they put black dots all over my hands and arms with a sharpie.   I asked what those dots were for, the guy said you don't want to know :o. Each dot is where they stuck a curved needle in.  And it had a wire attached, then they sent electricity into the spot and watched a monitor.   Then take the needle out and go to the next spot.  It was like 15-17 spots on each side.   My Doctor is a turkey hunter and I think He had them give me some special treatment :TooFunny:

I had one shot in my hand said it might help, the doctor that did my surgery on New Year's Eve 1986 left the next morning for the Winter Olympics as team doctor, I didn't know it till that day, I thought that was cool!
