Gobble!

I have never hunted them in the fall, 13 years spring only. May need to change that this year. Congrats.

I sure wish our fall season opened on the Saturday before . We had some rain and I probably saw 20 birds out in the open fields.( that was tough not being able to go after them).Good luck today

I killed a super Jake this morning. I'll try and post a picture later

I have only been turkey hunting for 44 years; what is a super jake?

They are 1 1/2 year old gobblers, they were jakes last spring. They usually have a 6-8 beard and weigh around 16-17 lbs, just short of a two year old. We also call them jake and a halfs. I saw someone else on the forum post one as super jake and thought I would do like- wise. My buddy and I have called them jake and a half for years, I guess it's our local terminology, sorry for the confusion.

Happy

Congrats on the birds and the venison gents.
