Your preference for a box call
« on: October 04, 2017, 10:41:17 AM »
 1. If you were going to build a box call with a domestic lid and body what would it be and why?

2. If you were building a box call with a domestic body and exotic lid what would it be and why?

In the hands of a skilled maker your a sure thing with these

Lid/body
Walnut/butternut- best sound but a little boring to look at.

Walnut/poplar-easy to tune contrast in colors make a nice looking call.

Purpleheart/cedar- little raspier sound, one of the prettiest boxes out there.

Has far has exotic lids,,snakewood is luxury!!! It's like leather interior in a car.
Nice black ebony always looks good atop anything.

Cherry over Butternut & Snakewood over Butternut.  Both combos loved by me and the gobblers this past season.
