Misfire Black Locust
« on: August 20, 2017, 09:42:32 AM »
I sent Lee Chadwick a piece of 200 year old Black locust from a hand hewn barn beam given to me by Frank Kruer.  This is what Lee sent back to me.
Lee,  you did a great job and sorry it's taken so long to post it.
Sounds great.

No trees were hurt in the sending of this message, however a large number of electrons were highly inconvenienced.

Very nice Steve. Congrats.  I couldn't imagine those guys back then using hand tools to carve that black locust into a beam.

That's a good-looking horn Steve. It's got a lot of figure in it. I like it

That's a pretty call. I believe I'd have to call in sick on locust day at the timber yard though.

Looks great!  Which mouthpiece?

Glad you like it Steve, it was a joy to make. I expect dead turkey pictures next spring.

For those asking, that is a number 1 mouthpiece
