Well I was hoping to get an upgrade or two to help push up our score but just didn't have that happen. However my daughter and I both tagged out in Missouri allowing her to complete her Royal Slam and I was able to fill my tag in Colorado completing my Single Season Grand Slam. What a great season it has been.

We hunted with Kevin Harris from Honey Creek Outfitters and super happy we did. First morning in Missouri we doubled up!

And with a double beard!

My second bird was a hard headed sucker that we worked for almost three hours. I had the great fortune to be hunting with Three Time World Champion Caller Don Shipp and we finally were able to seal the deal.

On the last morning Jaycie was able to fill her last tag on this fine bird.

Super proud of her for completing her Royal Slam at the young age of 15!

Next up was a last minute hunt in Colorado that was very quick and to the point. Tagged out and headed home within a couple of hours. I hunted with David Fox from Hitlist Outfitters off of a fellow forum member's recommendation and it was right on the money.

This completed my Single Season Grand Slam.

A few quick stats.
Missouri Eastern 1. 21 lbs 7 oz, 3/4" & 7/8" spurs, 11 1/4" main beard, 5 1/4" second. 60.19 typical 70.69 Atypical
Missouri Eastern 2. 21 lbs even, 1" & 1 1/8" spurs, 9 1/8" beard. 60.50
Colorado Merriam's 17 lbs 2 oz, 3/4" spurs, 9" beard. 50.12

Feeling extremely blessed.

Congrats on a fantastic season for both you and your daughter! Hope mine can end on as high a note this weekend with my grandson in NE. Weather looking iffy but gonna give it our best shot.

Thank you all! Still riding the high knowing it will be a long time to achieve a similar season.

My season ended uneventfully in Nebraska. Rain, wind and cold first 2 days led to lots of sightings of birds but not much responsiveness to calling. Never had a tom within 75 yards all weekend. Last morning my grandson had 2 jakes come into gun range but he was slow on getting his gun on them (he's 9 and just panicked a bit like we all have) and they got spooky and moved out of range. Good to spend some time in field with him. Hope it's something he'll remember when he's my age.

Still searching for that upgrade.  The only ones to come in close have been jakes.  Seeing longbeards but they aren't buying what i am selling.

Guns don't kill people.  Guns kill food.
