Tss is not needed, but is very forgiving. You can be off a little left or right. Or even a shot you say is 40 and turn out to be something different. I'm from NC and only get two birds a year. Shells could be $20 apiece and I'd still pay it. My $5-$6 tss shell doesn't cost me near as much as I'll spent in gas this season.

I have a box for my 20 gauge, but I have 3 boxes of hevi shot as well. I am not getting it for my 12 gauge.

I'm a tss fan. My buddy handloads them.  They aint cheap but these stubborn birds in Florida dont always make it inside 30 yards. With the pressure on public land you have to make every oppurtunity count.  I'm very close to switching to a .410.  But a .20 will probably be next. Tired of toting the old heavy Chevy Remington 870.

This will be my first year trying the TSS craze. Like the patterns that have been posted. Bought a TC turkey 20 g barrel for my Encor. Also decided to mount a scope on it for the first time. I'm okay with open sites but had a couple kills at close range where the pattern did not open as desired. Will be shooting Federal #9's with an Indian Creek .555 choke.

If everything goes well I may start loading my own as I already have everything except the roll crimp and components.
Everyone wants to be successful - some just need help.

I shoot handloads in my 20 ga. It has added a new dimension to the season for me. I enjoy loading them and it is no more than what I have paid for Hevi shot in my 12 ga.
