I got out to one of my properties late. Was going to set up on a corner where I worked a bird last weekend. On the way there I see a gobbler and a hen slip into the woods from the dirt road. I take a road immediately to the right drive down 150 yards and park, walk 75 yards back towards the birds find a suitable pine tree to sit against pull out my Spring Allure copper bubinga pot cluck and yelp softly a few times.

I have a lane where I can see to the head of the road and a lane in front of me to shoot. All of a sudden I can see that white head crossing the head of the road, it appears that he's going to keep going. A few scratches in the leaves and he hooks back. He sends three hens ahead of him.

The hens are all over me, he struts into the lane and I rock him at thirty five paces.

Started calling at 7:00 he died at 7:05, had plenty of time to make it back and go to church with the family!

11" beard and No spurs!
