Recently was going through some old keepsakes from over the years and found some of my beards were being eaten by some kind of mite looking bug. Is there anything I can spray on them to preserve them and prevent this? What are some of the things that y'all do?

guesswho

Borax.  20 Team Mule or something like that.

Yes 20 mule team borax is about the beet you can do. Making sure you remove all meat/fat is also key

Dry preservative. It's basically like borax w a mothproofer. If you think the bugs are there now put the beards in a bag n use a bug killer spray. Fog the bag n seal it for a bit. It'll kill em n the dry preservative on the end should help reinfestation

Agreed.  A squirt of bug spray and some time under a mound of borax should do the trick.
