SSX patterns
« on: March 13, 2017, 07:26:44 PM »
What kind of patterns is everyone getting with the Truglo SSX chokes? I have tried mine with 3 different #4 loads and not getting what I would like. The best pattern so far is 84 in a 10in circle.

More info would help, gun, shells, choke constriction. I say you need a more open choke.

Gun is a Remington 870.The SSX choke is a .643 and I have shot Remington Winchester and Longbeard #4. I'm getting a tight pattern but just not enough shot. Maybe there isn't enough in the shells.

Try a .665 if you have one or borrow from a friend and stick with the win lb.

I have shot the exact same choke out of my 870 with Magnum Blends 5,6,7 and it gets around 200 in the 10 at 40 every time.
