Well, I just ordered a Hoot'N stick synthetic. Hope it sounds as good, and is as easy, as every body makes it out to be.

Give us a review once you have it, I have been thinking of a new/backup Hooter.

I never use it for anything but to entertain the kids, but I have an H.S. wood Palmer's tube.  It's the most realistic I have ever heard.
PA elitist since 1979

The good Lord ain't made a gobbler I can't kill.  I just gotta be there at the right time.....  on the day he wants to die.

Another vote for Harrison Hoot'n stick.  Great sounding call.

It sounds just like an owl right out of the box. Easiest owl call I have ever seen/used.

I need to get a new owl call also...not sure what I did with my old one, but it was a cheap plastic HS something.

Is the Hootin stick really as easy as it looks on the YouTube videos?
Yes it is. Last year when I first started one morning I hit the hooter stick and literally had an owl fly above us and land in a nearby tree and talk back.  So I'm a believer. Once the real owl started up, I shut up and let the real Mccoy work for me. I bought the synthetic model at NWTF last year and spoke with Harrison. He reccomended the synthetic for the field. Same exact call just cheaper and plastic so no worries if lost or damaged. He said he even carries the synthetic in the woods.

Gone Fishing

I have used a Quaker Boy Owl Hooter for well over 25 years down here in FL. Super easy and effective

Thanks for the update, sounds like a winner!
did you get the plastic or wood version?

I've used the Hunter Specialty's owl hooter for years and it sounds very realistic, if your not getting responses try a coyote  call if they are there  they will answer.
Female hunter hunting the wild turkey for over 20 years.
Earn your gobbler, no Roost shooting.

I didn't actually use the Harrison hooter the other morning, I used the plastic hooter (HS Strut?). The bird would gobble to the hooter, but wanted nothing to do with my turkey talk!

jpalmer

If you can find one The original Palmers Hoot Tube not the HS Strut version

i've made a couple owl hooters for some friends/ staff just to let them try them out . i do laugh , roll and the who cooks for you- who cooks for you all  to boot

That hoot'n stick sounds more like an owl than any hooter I've ever heard before. I know you can't blow it too hard so I'm wondering if you can get enough volume out of it to get some gobbles at a distance.

I use it and agree it's the most realistic. I've called in owls with it before unintentionally. Ive never had an issue with volume. If it's real windy maybe it wouldn't be the best but it's been good to me
