Dang turkey gobbled 30-40 times this morning but wouldn't come no closer than 75 yards.  Back to work maybe I'll get one next week.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.

I got 3 days to hunt starting Thursday. I've only worked 2 birds so far and both are still living. We had a very early spring.

Opening day in Virginia here. My hunting partner killed this awesome bird at 10:05. He gobbled good on the limb responded a few times on the ground but went quite for a few hours. We hung with him and I struck him again at 9:45. Got watch an awesome show for about 200 yards of him strutting and gobbling all the way to 6 steps. 24.8 pounds, 9.5" beard 1 1/8" spurs. We'll be back at it in the morning and I'm up to bat. Beautiful plume on the bird also.
