Barrel pitting

Just took my barrel off my browning gold and noticed it has pitting in barrel just in front of chamber. Id noticed maybe a little bit last year but it appears to have gotten worse. It appears to have happened since I switched to htl a few yrs ago. Anybody else have this happen. Any solutions Or suggestions?

Thanks, I ordered stuff to polish last night. There's not much in the barrel, only goes for a few inches past chamber. I think polishing will get most of it, the rest I'll just  live with. Thanks again!
