While you are spending money go ahead and spend a little extra. The tab bender is the ticket!!! Plus it helps to keep one more of countless elements that go into making a call consistent.

Never seen or used one,...so I know they are not all that important,...but like others have said, if you want to spend the money on one, go for it.

I have a Feather Ridge Press that I have used for 6 years that does not have a tab bender. It never bothered me not having one.

You dont need it....but dont ever use one..cause you will instantly want it.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.
