Wasn't too thrilled about yesterdays opener. The wind whipped me but today was much better. Didn't hear anything at flydown, but 4 hens did come in about 30 min later and milled about awhile with no gobbler in tow. They eased off and I took off to find a player. Got 2-3 hollers over from the clearcut I was in to a more timbered area and got one lit up. He was with hens and wouldn't move. Just dogged them for awhile then cut around, up and over and found the bench he was strutting on. Gobbled, drummed and strutted a ton. Finally whined and purred the hens to death. Took a long time but they drug him to his demise. Forgot my phone and camera, didn't get good glory pics but got my pics squared away for the kill thread. Good day, he put on a whale of a show.
