This is my 870 SM and 3 1/2" LB #6's.  225 in the 10" at 40 yards!!  I shot 3 1/3" #5's with 165 in the 10" and 3" #5 and got 131.  I think I'm staying with the #6's!!!  I like these long beards!!!

I dont shoot the same gun but I was thinking my .660 Jellyhead/Rhino with 3.5 long beard  #6's didn't pattern tight enough at 40. They threw killing patterns but just not what I was looking for. I decided to try a .655. After looking at your patterns Im having second thoughts about whether or not my patterns were experiencing some blow out due to over choke.

I tried a .655 and a .650 but it was blowing the pattern as well.  Seems a .665 is about right for a Remington barrel.  At least in my case.  Mine is a 26".  My brother in-law has a 870 with a 21" and his gun loves a .640 and 3" Winchester supreme #6.  But i shot that .640 with a 3 1/2" #6 and looked like you shot it with a modified choke!!

My results today were 240 through a .671 245 through a .655 and 265 through a .660. Still waiting and wanting to try a .665

How did the pattern look with the .660?  By the numbers looks like a great combo!

you need to tighten that choke down a bit. you can do much better at 40 with the 6s 3.5" im shooting 260 with my stock 28" barrel and a sumtoy 655 at 40 yards and 230 with my 21" barrel and the same choke at 40. you have a great pattern, I just see potential in a better one that's all

I agree that it might do a little better.  But at 20 yards it's already borderline too tight in my opinion.  I guess it's a matter of when enough is enough.  I have an old Star-dot choke not sure the constriction that I'm going to try tonight and clean my gun as well.  But this is the best I've got it to shoot right now.  Also its a 26" barrel as well?  Not sure how much difference that will make.

Ive tried cropping my circle 4x and it still evidently exceeds the file size limit. Im going to try a .660 jebs in comparison to the jellyhead gen 1 and rhino. May give sumtoy a try as well

see that's more in the ball park....no reason a 3.5 even with a decent spread 20-30 shouldn't put at a minimum of 250 in a 10" circle at 40. I do know with my 21" barrel it has to be squeaky clean to get a good pattern. my 28" barrel usually shoots its best pattern 2-3 shots in

So if I was going to try another choke say a .655 what would you guys recomend?
