What do y'all use to weigh your birds for competition? I've been looking at getting a set of scales for some time but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I'm thinking it's about time. Found a set of Mustad fish scales that will weight up to 50#. Figured that'd do the trick just fine. Wasn't sure what was acceptable though.

I would suggest a digital scale.. I
Have a small one I keep in my vest.

I think the one I use is made by Rapala. A digital is a must if you want an accurate weight.

Most of the cheap ones I saw on there were in metric. Didn't feel like doing the conversion. I'll get it taken care of soon though. I generally don't get too pumped until right before season but this year feels different. I'm ready to roll.

You can change them back to Lbs or Rapala makes a very nice one.

Didn't realize that. I'd didn't mention that in any of the descriptions.

Having seen what some of the guys on other teams use, I am going to use some old, rusty, spring-operated fish scale that makes my eighteen pound birds show up as 25 pounders.  ...I think those guys are onto something there!

Hahaha. Now there's a plan. With an attitude like that, we could pull it off this spring.

That's the same reason those guys shoot fours. Every gram counts.
