Just got back from my annual trip to Nebraska. It was the toughest I have ever seen it out there, lots of hens and jakes but a severe lack of mature birds. It was very odd. We had a good time but I must admit I was unable to upgrade from my first turkey posted. I killed a bird that scored 66 but thats the best I could muster this year.  Just wanted to share some pics and let you guys know I tried to get us that last 6 points or so we needed to overtake the lead. Hopefully someone can pull it out in these last few days. I'm not convinced I'm done for the year either, still tossing around the idea of a quick trip to Kansas but getting back in a truck right now sounds horrible.

One of the birds I killed had the smallest set of spurs I've ever seen on a two year old. If I hadn't seen any other part of the bird it would have been a hard sell on it being anything but a jake.

great bird! I am on one that will go in the 70s if he will cooperate. Joe can have a good upgrade or Trevoe can kill one big enough to displace Joe's.
