The .562 IC did well in my M2 did well with 1.625oz load. 339 in the 10" and 229 in 20".  I was going to have IC make me a .568, but I got the .562 because I was impatient.lol  Would like to have more in the 10-20 ring myself.

That is awesome I would take that all day. Almost no "flyers" that I can see.  Was that #9's?

9's, a mix of 400 count and 375 count.  There were hardly any fliers, most were just outside 20" ring.

Very impressive if you like hot cores. But to quote Gophert, "I've missed a lot of turkeys with patterns like that". I think I'd be investing in an optic or a Carlson's .575 if it were me.

A definite solid combo for sure.  I think I would like to just change my quote to "I've missed a lot of turkeys". 

I've killed a few turkeys at some long distances with those tight TSS patterns, however, I have missed more up close than I've killed at long so, next year, I've decided to drop down in shot payload and open it up a bit.  It's one thing to miss one at 40+, but to do it at 20 is hard to stomach.

Definitely shows TSS safe on the site maybe Sumtoy will chime in and let us know......

Kind of got the turkey gun on the back burner to fishing for now but I hope to get something ordered in the off season and get it dialled in. Would love to try a Sumtoy

I think Sumtoy doesn't guarantee patterns with TSS. He will work with you to get what you want with HW but not TSS because there are so many variations.

The TSS is good and bad.  You have some many different loads out for it.  Folks want to play and want me to trade out chokes.  That is money out my pocket and in return out everyone else pocket.   So it is a fine line on the trade out stuff on it. 

Give you one.  I have some of the guys call and want to trade out chokes because they read so and so is getting 10 more shoot then they are on line.  That is the stuff that gets old.  Plus you have the guys that load wrong and damage stuff. They  want you to stand behind something they did wrong.

Got out with some decent weather this evening and fired a few rounds....

Weather 73 Deg 10-15MPH wind

Benelli M2 20 Compact 24"

First shot spotless barrel. 40yds .5625 IC




Pulled the bore snake through 3-4 times after every 2 shots




Trulock HW#7 choke. I think it's .565 but not marked on the choke




IC .555 was lower count but more even today for some reason.


I'm guessing dirty barrel. Bore snake doesn't do much. When I got home and cleaned the barrel it was pretty dirty


Still don't have a clear winner with chokes although they all are pretty good.

One shot from my Beretta 390 20ga 26" strangler choke(no longer made not sure of the constriction)

Still looking like the IC .562 is the most consistent for POI and patterns, although they are tight still has a decent 20"

Went to the range today and only shot 2 of 5 I had loaded up. Forgot my other choke (trulock HW#7, I think it's a .5625)at home and figured no need to shoot the .555 IC any more. Will go back and try the trulock and also going to be looking for a .5625 IC IF any one wants to get rid of one. Loving the POA/POI for this load and choke. Highly recomend the larger longer front bead for anyone looking to lower POI on the M2 without optics. Looks like I will be loading the rest of the TSS I have and counting the days until next spring.

what larger and longer front bead are you talking about?  I need to try something on my m2.  its high and I cant get it down.  I have the dead ringer sight on it now and have shimmed the front sight.

that's not much higher than the factory.  I need something about as high as the tru glo magnum dot...but with a larger fiber optic like a .029+

You can get it in a 3 mm also. But the way it brought my POI down was the length of the bead not the size.

If you move the bead 5" closer to your eye, to line up the 2 beads you have to bring your barrel down more which lowers your POI.
