Shad did you use a filter? Post processing?

Maybe my monitor but all the pics have a blue effect to them.  Makes the feathers pop but not thrilled with the blue tinted blacks.

Just curious, your obviously above my compact point and shoot :TooFunny:

No filter.
It may be your monitor.... I calibrate mine weekly.
The blacks are black for me- some of the feathers do have an irridescent sheene due to the way the light hits them (some green, golds, & blues- almost metallic looking) Is that what you are seeing???

After looking at your other pics I ruled out the monitor.

Area I am looking at would be the tail feather quills, second picture would be the glare on the fan and secondary feathers. All pics the beard has a blue/cold tint.  Also the whites in the head have a blue ghost to it.  Maybe the lighting but they have a blue sheen to them.  Would have expected the sunlight to give a warm tone to the black.

I don't know man.....I'm not seeing what your seeing. The whites are clean, blacks are black, and the greys are grey on my screen & the prints.

Wasn't sunny at all- low light, high iso, & slow shutter speeds

Figured it out.   Monitor.

At home now and the colors are better.

You said it was not sunny so now it makes sense why the colors are cool, not much your could do with that ;)

Bet it would have a crazy blue tint now LOL

I can warm it up in photoshop but I prefer to keep things as close to what I see through my camera when I do wildlife. If it's portraits or scenics I might try to convey a mood but I think wildlife do that on their own.

Agreed.

Now everything on this site has a blue tint :TooFunny:
