Suggestions for SP-10

Based upon the general consensus on this board, I purchased a Kicks .690 for use with the Federal heavyweight number 7's. I did not experience results like most people seem to get. I then used a Trulock .680. It was better and I killed a few gobblers with it, but I am interested in trying to get a "superior" pattern and I have been unable to do so. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Saw a Jellyhead on Ebay the other day. Are you stuck on HTL or are you open to lead options?

If you're determined to shoot the federal heavyweights I found that a pure gold .690 did better in mine than the kicks. That being said, the kicks does better with everything else. I typically shoot nitro 7's but when it really greens up and a longer shot is impossible I go to some old win xx 6's.

I'm open to any combo's, but I prefer the heavyweight. I tried Winchester lead #5's and they were decent through the Kicks, but nothing special.

Best shooting load through my BPS 10 was the old Win. 2 1/4 oz. #5's through an unported Hastings .695.
Comp-n-Choke XX .705 right now with either weight #4's, Federal, Winchesters or my favorites, Remington 2 1/4 oz.

You got to clean the bore down real good between shots with that federal wad they use on the hw - the fowling will open up your pattern

My SP-10 likes an Indian Creek .690 choke tube and Hevi-Shot Mag Blends. I have never counted the holes but it throws a nice even pattern that I am comfortable with.

I would think something in the .670-.680 range with that tiny shot would be good, not sure though as I am a lead only guy.

I've been shooting Nitro #4 Hevi Shot through an Indian Creek .685 choke. Absolutely devastating pattern that is perfectly round. I can't wait to try some of the new shot Ray is using that is heavier than Heavy Shot.

So-10 are you talking about the mega-weight shot that nitro had? I shoot them out of my bps10ga and it completely blows a ten inch circle out of my target at 40 and the nitro hevi shot is nothing shabby either..

Yeah, the mega-weight shot. But it is listed as unavailable until further notice. The older 2.5 oz of #4 Heavy Shot that Ray has traditionally loaded obliterates a 10" circle at 50 yards when I shoot it out of my SP-10 and the Indian Creek .685 choke.

As soon as the Mega weight is available again I'm going to get Ray to load a box of 25 straight #4 Mega weight for me.
